Your wedding photos and film are the only part of your day you'll keep forever. So when it comes to budgeting for a photographer and videographer, how much should you really invest?
Pricing varies with experience, location, and the level of service you want. In this guide, we'll walk through what wedding photography and film cost, what drives the price, and how to decide what's right for you.
These are averages. The range is wide because the experience, team, and final product vary so much from one studio to the next.

Years behind the camera shape more than the images. Experienced teams know how to read a room, stay calm when the timeline slips, and still catch the moment that matters.
Major cities and destination weddings usually cost more, and many teams add travel fees on top. We don't. Every Prophetic Film House collection includes travel, anywhere in the world.
The more that's included, the higher the investment. Things that change the price include second shooters, engagement sessions, albums, hours of coverage, film photography, and how much editing and color work goes into every image and frame.
A 300-guest weekend needs more coverage, more people, and more editing than an intimate ceremony, and pricing reflects that.

Photos hold a moment still. Film brings back the sound of your vows, the way your dad laughed during his toast, and how it felt to walk back up the aisle married. A cinematic wedding film takes hours of editing, audio work, and storytelling, and it's the part of the day many couples tell us they treasure most.
That's why more couples are choosing one team for both. Here's why it's worth it:
Your photos and film share the same style and color, so they tell one story instead of two.
One contract, one retainer, one planning process, and a team that already knows how to work together.
Separate vendors can mean five or six people following you all day. One team moves together and stays out of the way, so you can stay present with each other.

Our photo-only or video-only collections begin at $8,400. Photo and film collections begin at $12,600, and most couples invest between $12,600 and $18,800, depending on whether they choose a full day, a rehearsal dinner and wedding day, or the full wedding weekend. Destination collections begin at $14,600.
Every collection includes two photographers and two videographers, 35mm film and Super 8, a sneak peek within two weeks, and no travel fees. A flat $3,000 retainer reserves your date, and the balance is due two weeks before your wedding.
Forget the old "10% of your budget" rule. Instead, ask yourselves:
Your photos and film aren't just another line on the budget. They're the heirlooms your children will one day hold. Whatever you invest, choose a team whose work moves you and who will care for your day like it's their own.
